This mixed media piece was first rust dyed on silk satin, and later painted with wax and Dupont silk dyes, using a paintbrush. It is sewn on wool and on linen, which creates a double frame. Linen was painted with acrylics. Later the piece was hand quilted with the linen thread pulled from the linen fabric. The technique of using wax and paintbrush on silk is an old Japanese technique called Rozome
