This art quilt is made from many layers of small pieces of painted silk. It is quilted and slashed to reveal the layers and threads of the fabric. I used painted silk crepe-de-chine, painted silk habotai and raw silk. backing is a raw silk. The edges have painted symbols and painted wildlife. Each piece of fabric has distinctive texture and threads. It is fully washable on gentle cycle, and should be dried in a dryer. Very unique piece. Textiles are great for adding the warmth to the rooms, and also absorb the sounds well. It hangs on invisible acrylic rod.
